Through the powerful symbol of rice, I embark on a journey in " Rice is Mẹ" project (Mẹ is Mother in Vietnamese) to reunite with my roots, family, and traditions, while navigating the complexities of cultural assimilation. I blend my primary approaches (photography, video) with poetry, sound, ceramics, sculptures to express my complex emotions of loss, hope, and resilience. At the heart of this project, I collaborate with my daughter and my partner while reclaiming rice as my artistic medium through Vietnamese and American clay.
